When the bench arrived it was in a rather sorry state. It has since been refurbished, primed and painted in a traditional garden green colour. The table did require a small amount of welding to maintain the structural integrity of the bench

Louis Vuitton, the French fashion house founded in 1854, famous worldwide for its luxury trunks and handbags. Louis Vuitton also created some furniture during the 1920-30's, some of this furniture was allegedly used to decorate the coaches of the Orient Express.

The layers of old paint have been removed from this table, it has then been polished and waxed. The marble top is a later addition which we feel complements the table well

Beautiful large proportion arras 'Saint Sauveur' chair This chair is in good condition with Lions feet dating to circa 1880, from one of the factories in arras producing this type of garden furniture. Originally green in colour, with decades of being outside giving a fantastic patina and look.

Arras Furniture first emerged circa 1840 when one of three companies manufacturing metal products in the town of Arras, Grassin-Baledans, began to specialise in garden furniture and started producing artistic ironwork.

All authentic Arras pieces are entirely hand forged and riveted, using metal tubing and flat metal. The furniture was intended for the high-end market at a time when the privileged classes were discovering the benefits of outdoor living, and the pieces were made to the highest quality and durability, along with their striking and distinctive appearance, made Arras pieces incredibly fashionable and extremely collectable today.

Originally embellished with lion paws, after 1900 this changed to horse hooves.
